Why do I need to pump my Septic tank, even if I'm not experiencing problems?
A septic tank is a watertight container, which accumulates and builds up solids, scum and sludge waste from your home. If these solid accumulations become too "thick", solids are allowed passage into your drain field and potentially causing premature failure. This may be prevented with routine pumping and inspections by a certified pumping firm. Septic tanks do require maintenance pumping before solid accumulations become too "thick". Most septic tanks should be pumped every 1-3 years.
